Join local artist, Rachel Bayersdorfer, for a fun workshop of modular origami!
Modular origami is a technique where multiple sheets of paper are folded and then assembled into 3D shapes. Typical origami is made with 1 square sheet of paper, but here we will use 6 or more. In this workshop, you will learn the Sonobe Unit which is a popular introductory modular origami unit. Then you will assemble multiple of your units into cubes, double cubes, or balls. No glue required!
No previous paper folding experience necessary; all skill levels welcome.
You may choose to bring paper from home, but paper will be provided. (3x3 in. post-it notes are perfect for this project, but any thin, square paper will do! We have a paper cutter.)
This workshop is 2 hours long with a maximum of 10 participants (12 years or older).
