Linocut Printmaking
Saturday, August 10 (4-7pm)
This class will teach you how to create beautiful linocuts, an exciting relief technique for printmaking! Art Educator, Megan Larson will guide you first in carving linoleum blocks, then in printing multiples of your image on paper. Once the process is learned, a linocut is something that you can easily recreate at home.
First you will hear a brief history of linocuts, sketch a design and learn and how to transfer your sketch to the linoleum.
Get more comfortable with the cutting tools by playing around with different mark-making techniques. Then carve a linoleum printing block with your chosen design.
At the end of class you will apply ink to your block and print multiples of your image on paper! Experiment with black or color inks.
This workshop is 3 hours long with a maximum of 8 participants (12 years and older.) All materials provided!
